Biographical
description
I interviewed is my father his name is Samir Alkhiliwi.
Of course I have known him for my entire life. He was born in 1957 in
Saudi Arabia. He was living with his parents in his childhood, he has
5 brothers and sisters. Nowadays, he is a father of six. His father
was an educated person who had a good job at the biggest oil company
in Saudi Arabia, but his mom was illiterate because she didn't go to
school in her childhood. Earlier in his life, his father went to
India with his uncle when he was 18 years old to study, but he lived
there for 20 years. However, at that time he used to speak fluent
Indian, English and Arabic. He was successful in his career.
However, he decided to imitate his father by walking in the same path
of education. Living with an illiterate mother and an educated father
who speaks three languages was hard because when he decided to study
abroad he did not get the full support he needed from his mother; on
the other hand, his father was very supportive because he was the
first person to study abroad in his family. He studied in Florida at
Broward Community College his freshmen and sophomore years majoring
in General business educations, then he transferred to California
university at San Diego to complete his Junior and Senior years. He
was majoring in (Business Administration with Emphasis of Marketing).
He graduated in less than 4 years by attending 2 different
universities in the junior year at the same time. The first was in
the morning and the second was at night. It is officially not
acceptable, but in a smart way, he applied with uncompleted
application in both universities to get accepted and start classes.
It worked till both universities asked him to complete his paper work
which they have been waiting for so he can be officially admitted.
After finishing two semesters in both universities, he chose what
university he prefers and ask the other to send his credits
(transcript) to the one he feels more comfortable with. He graduated
with 3.0 GPA. Despite his hard work, he focused on free business
ignoring his degree.
